We want to make everyone aware of an issue when dating documents in 2020. When you sign and date any document in 2020, do not abbreviate the year. Be sure to write out the year ‘2020’ in full. An abbreviation of the year can easily be fraudulently changed.
Example: Todays date is of January 3, 2020. If written as 1/3/20, it can easily be changed to 1/3/2019 by someone writing in the last two numbers if you abbreviate the year on your documents. To help prevent fraud, be sure and write the entire year on your dates: 1/3/2020.
